What Does the Bible Say about God?

The Bible says God wants us to know Him. In fact, He took the first step in our relationship. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son [Jesus] into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 John 4:9-10).

Not only does God love us, but he made His love really obvious. But the only thing that stands in the way of a relationship with God is our sin. So God sent Jesus, his perfect Son, to pay the penalty of our sin for us – so that we could have peace with God. God did it all. That’s real love!
